Triller, one of TikTok’s most prominent rivals, is staking it’s claim to the ByteDance app’s creators by offering a way for them to transfer all their TikToks to the platform.
The company has launched a website, SaveMyTikToks.com, powered by the engagement platform Amplify.ai. “Afraid you’ll lose all your TikTok videos?” the platform asks on the site. “We have a solution. Back up all your videos and upload them to Triller with the click of a button!”
Per TechCrunch reporter Sarah Perez, “The process takes a bit more effort than the ‘click of a button’ that Triller promises on the new website.”
How To Save Your TikToks via Triller
As explained by TechCrunch, users will need to agree to Triller’s terms and press the ‘Connect TikTok Account’ button in order to give Triller access to its content.
From there, TechCrunch reports that the website asks users for their email addresses to be alerted to when their posts have been saved and downloaded. The final step, the outlet adds, is to set up a Triller account and receive further guidance on uploading your TikToks onto the platform.
Despite being around since 2015, and boasting big names like Bryce Hall, Triller has never quite reached the same popularity as TikTok.
In 2023, Apptopia claimed that the app had only been downloaded 73.2 million times since its launch. TikTok, by contrast, has over 1 billion active users.
Still, for creators, there are limited options for alternative apps ahead of the Jan. 19 TikTok ban. So, perhaps it truly is Triller’s time to shine.
