Controversial YouTuber Dr Disrespect has announced that his YouTube channel has been re-monetized. He was initially de-monetized back in 2024 after he was accused of inappropriately messaging a minor by several former Twitch employees.
Following his Twitch ban and subsequent de-monetization by YouTube, the list of platforms that would actually take the creator on was shrinking. He ended up streaming on the right-wing platform Rumble. However, according to Dexerto, his viewing numbers dried up after finding considerable success during his first stream.
His YouTube viewership wasn’t much better, but nevertheless, the streamer persisted, and on Jan. 30, he shared the news of his re-monetization during a YouTube broadcast.
“Monetization is back,” he said. “We have to regulate certain things in regards to donations on YouTube, but I’ll have everything fixed and cleared up by tomorrow. But ladies and gentlemen, we got our f**king YouTube monetization back.”

Ultimately, it suggests that some creators are so “big” that they can never truly be “canceled.” YouTube’s decision to reinstate monetization, even after knowing the allegations made against him, reflects poorly on the platform.
