Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson continues to break records for creator success, even if they’re occasionally silly ones. He previously broke platform records for the most-subscribed channel and most video views in a day. This time, however, it’s for having the most liked video on YouTube. The video in question is a YouTube Short from 2022 entitled, ‘Would You Fly To Paris For A Baguette?’

As the title implies, the video involves MrBeast on the street, asking people if they’d fly to Paris and get him a baguette if he paid them. While this pursuit was unsuccessful initially, he eventually found a guy willing to go for $300.

Cue a montage of him getting in the taxi, going to the airport, landing in France, and getting not just one but a dozen baguettes before flying back to North Carolina to give Beast his bread. In total, the video has amassed 54.7 million likes and over 1.4 billion views, according to Dexerto.

A list compiled by Wikipedia users also suggests that two other MrBeast videos are in the top 20 of the most-liked videoes on YouTube. These include ‘Giving iPhones Instead Of Candy on Halloween’, which is eighth on the list, and ‘Katana vs Bullet, which is tenth on the list.

What Was The Previous Most Liked Video on YouTube?

“Would You Fly To Paris For a Baguette” has now knocked Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito ft. Daddy Yankee” out of the top spot. Notably, MrBeast’s video is much more recent than Luis Fonsi’s. “Despacito” was uploaded on January 12, 2017. “Would You Fly To Paris…” was December 9, 2022. Fonsi and Daddy Yankee had a five-year head start on likes.

It’s been a fairly difficult year for MrBeast. He’s faced several controversies surrounding his TV show, general working conditions, Lunchly products, and the allegations against former friend and staff member Ava Tyson.

One might think that all of this would be enough to “cancel” MrBeast for good, but clearly, he’s more popular than ever. It’s just a question of how long this popularity will last. He has the most liked video on YouTube, but will he remain its most loved creator?
