Being part of Twitch’s Partnership program is the easiest way for streamers to make money on the platform. When creators are part of this program, they have the ability to access Twitch ad deals, get subscribers, and earn money from the Twitch bounty board.
The Partner Plus program is the next step for streamers. It gives them a higher proportion of the subscriber revenue they share with Twitch, but meeting the requirements for the program isn’t easy.
There are two “levels” to the scheme. If streamers meet the criteria for Level 1, they’ll get access to a 60/40 split in net revenue. This rate then increases to 70/30 at Level 2. To reach these milestones, streamers have to attain and maintain a certain number of Plus Points. Plus Points are determined by the amount of recurring channel subscriptions, Tier 1-3 subscriptions, and multi-month subscriptions.
In the past, many have complained that the amount of Plus Points needed for the program is too high, but for Latin American streamers, things are going to change.
Latin American Streamers Now Need Fewer Plus Points
Twitch has announced that, from June 1, the number of Plus Points Latin Americans need for Level 1 is 50 points, down from the usual 100 points. Moreover, when it comes to Level 2, Latin Americans only need 200 points as opposed to 300.
We regularly monitor representation to ensure we are helping streamers globally access the program,” Twitch CEO Dan Clancy said in a statement. “The data we have tells us that cultural nuances and economic realities in LATAM have made it difficult for creators of similar size to meet Plus program requirements compared to those in other regions.”
“Given this, we see an opportunity to better support creators in LATAM by making higher revenue shares more accessible. That’s why starting June 1, 2025, we’re implementing region-specific qualification criteria that better reflects the unique economic and cultural landscape of LATAM streaming communities.”
