On May 30, Tribeca Festival announced the full line-up for its Creator Economy vertical. One major change coming this year is the launch of its ‘UP NEXT Creators’ program, which celebrates twelve up-and-coming creators across platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
UP NEXT creators will be given a “full-scale premiere” with a big screen and a live audience on June 12. The showcase, which includes a Q&A, will take place at AMC 19th Street East 6.
The lucky creators participating in this are as follows:
- Ari at Home
- Christina Young
- Coco Mocoe
- Danny Cortez
- Eric Jeng
- Lauren W
- Patrick Hicks
- Public Opinion
- Spencer Lackey
- Stef Dag
- Walker Ward
In a press release, Jarod Neece, Senior Programmer at Tribeca Festival said: “The UP NEXT Creators program is our way of recognizing the incredible innovation happening in the creator economy.”
“These creators are pioneering new forms of cultural storytelling—and just like the filmmakers and artists Tribeca has always championed, they deserve a spotlight.”
What Else Is Happening at Tribeca for Creators?
Another event creators should watch out for is a live conversation with Christina ‘Tinx,’ Najjar, who is known for her podcast ‘It’s Me, Tinx.’ The podcaster, who was named one of Forbes’ top creators in 2022 and 2023, will present the event in partnership with the Whalar Group on June 9 at the Crosby Street Hotel.
Creators can also look forward to the world premiere of ‘Call Me Alex’ — a Hulu docuseries about ‘Call Her Daddy’s’ Alex Cooper. Additionally, there’s a Tribeca X panel focused on entrepreneurs and storytellers. This event will feature panellists like Jo Cronk, Taryn Delanie Smith, Adam W, and Ugo Mozie.
Finally, there’s the Content Creator/Influencer category at the Tribeca X Awards. This category seeks to celebrate and draw attention to some of the best talent in the creator economy.
“Storytelling has always been the heartbeat of what Creators do,” Neil Waller, Co-CEO & Co-Founder of Whalar Group, said in a statement. “At Whalar Group, we’ve long understood that Creators are not just a trend, they are the architects of modern media and the future of entertainment. As legacy media companies increasingly invest in Creator-led content and see undeniable returns, it’s clear the model doesn’t just work – it leads. That’s why partnering with Tribeca is such a pivotal moment.”
“Together, we’re bridging the gap between emerging creative voices and the broader entertainment industry, accelerating a future where Creators are recognized as central to the cultural conversation.”
