Google is developing AI chatbots to run on its language model Gemini. And they might be based on your favorite creator, according to a report from The Information.
With the AI chatbot tipped to be integrated with YouTube, insiders told The Information that Google has already held talks with creators about the possibility of developing chatbots based on influencers’ likenesses.
Per the report, Google Doodle designer Ryan Germick is spearheading the Google Labs team responsible for testing this project. In a statement to The Information, a Google spokesperson said: “Google Labs is a place where we experiment with future AI product ideas—some of which may be integrated into our products at some point, some of which will not.”
To that end, we might not have to wait too long to see which creators will be getting customizable AI chatbot counterparts. But The Information estimates that these AIs could launch “this year.” Google isn’t the only platform looking into customizable AI.
Charli D’Amelio, MrBeast, and Kendall Jenner have already worked with Meta on their Llama LLM chatbots. But if this report is to be believed, Google is catching up — and fast.
