Creators are set to arrive in droves at the Democratic National Convention. And now, they’ll have their own exclusive creator platform to post from.

The ambitious feat was announced by the Democratic National Convention Committee on August 16, with the committee revealing that the creator platform will be built “directly on the convention’s floor.”

In a press release detailing the announcement, the committee said that the Creator Platform will operate similarly to the Network Platforms used by major television networks. The platform will feature a “designated space” for content creators to conduct interviews and “share the convention experience” with followers.

“As the media landscape continues evolving, we’re building a convention that meets Americans where they are by giving content creators a front row seat to history,” Executive Director Alex Hornbrook said in a press statement.

A political partnership

According to the New York Times, creators will occupy at least one speaking slot per day at the convention.

Influencers making an appearance at the convention include Deja Foxx, Nabela Noor, Carlos Eduardo Espina, Olivia Julianna and John Russell. Per the New York Times, these creators have a cumulative following of over 24 million.

Foxx and Julianna will both speak on reproductive rights, while Noor will talk to delegates about motherhood. Espina will discuss immigration, and, on the final night, Russell will speak about the fight “for our future” and labor unions.

The convention takes place between August 19-22, 2024.

“The energy and enthusiasm inside of our convention hall will be electric,” Hornbrook said in the press release. “By granting content creators access to capture the convention experience up close, we’re going to harness that energy, bring it out to the American people, and turn it back into momentum for the Harris-Walz ticket.”
