Job search site Glassdoor is having a shake-up to make the platform more community-driven.
In a press release shared with Passionfruit, the platform announced that it is welcoming a range of interactive features, including polls, short-form videos, and, in the near future, image carousels.
The introduction of these features doesn’t just pit Glassdoor against LinkedIn. It also demonstrates how these career platforms are trying to take a leaf out of the books of creator platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
But the real cherry on the top for Glassdoor is its brand new announcement of the “Worklife Pro” creator program.
What are Glassdoor Worklife Pros?
Worklife Pros is a group of creators who Glassdoor is now recruiting to make content on the platform. These creators are experts from a large range of industries, including wellness, recruitment, activism, and finance.
All of the Worklife Pros will utilize Glassdoor’s new tools to share insights on various issues. While the Pros will disclose their identities as public influencers, Glassdoor users — who sign on to the platform to share work experiences anonymously — can still keep their identities private.
A Glassdoor representative told Passionfruit that the creators in Worklife Pros are being compensated for their work but declined to share specific earnings “at this time.”
“At Glassdoor, we have evolved our platform with the understanding that the modern workforce is looking for more than just job listings and salary data,” Christian Sutherland-Wong, CEO of Glassdoor, said in a statement.
“They want support and insight that can help them grow and thrive both professionally and personally. With the introduction of Worklife Pros into our community, we are bridging that gap, giving our users direct access to expert content that empowers them to make informed decisions at every stage of their career journey.”
