‘Hawk Tuah’ Girl Cleared In Crypto Investigation

After becoming the internet’s darling with her X-rated catchphrase, things came crashing down for Hailey Welch. In December, Welch launched the memecoin $HAWK. While the value of the crypto initially rose, it was quickly rug-pulled, losing 93% of its value and leaving investors disgruntled.

Following the $HAWK crash, she appeared on a Spaces stream with CoffeeZilla. When the crypto disaster was mentioned, Welch said she was going to bed and quickly left the stream. Welch then disappeared from social media for more than three months.

Now investors are finally getting some answers, though they may not be the ones they were looking for. The US Securities and Exchange Commission has conducted an investigation into Welch’s crypto scheme, and according to TMZ, that investigation is finally finished.

“The SEC closed the investigation without making any findings against, or seeking any monetary sanctions from, Haliey,” Welch’s lawyer, James Sallah, says. “Because they did not bring any action against her, there are no restrictions on what she can do in regards to crypto or securities in the future.”

Sources also told the outlet that Welch has parted ways with the company associated with the memecoin. This comes after Welch’s return to social media the past week, which coincides with the announcement of her own documentary.

Clearly, things are looking up for Welch — though, unsurprisingly, the TMZ report that she is “done” with crypto.
