The Super Bowl is the most iconic sports event of the year. And for 2025, creators Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed are taking things up a notch. The streaming legends are set to compete with one another in an official flag football match. The match which will stream directly on the NFL’s YouTube channel on Saturday, Feb. 8.
The NFL announced the event in a humorous video posted on its X page. It consists of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell calling up IShowSpeed. “Speed, I was just watching your stream, and it had me thinking…We’re throwing a flag football game down in New Orleans, and it’s going to be streamed on YouTube,” Goodell says.
“We’re looking for two of the best to be part of the game.” In response, IShowSpeed requests to challenge Kai Cenat.
IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr, is one of the most popular creators out there. Watkins, known for his energetic live streams, has over 35 million YouTube subscribers. He most recently won Streamer of the Year at the 2024 Streamy Awards.
Kai Cenat is equally as popular. Along with having 16.2 million Twitch followers, Cenat’s Twitch channel is the most subscribed one on the platform. Like IShowSpeed, he is known for high-energy streams, along with comedic vlogging and prank videos.
Furthermore, as the NFL works to try and make the Super Bowl as relevant as ever, it’s no surprise that it’s enlisting creators.
Moreover, the NFL has been firmly embedding itself in the creator economy as of late. Along with making YouTube the official sponsor of the Super Bowl Tailgate concert, it is also working with the platform to launch the ‘Access Pass for Legends.’
Cenat and IShowSpeed’s game will stream 9PM ET on the official NFL YouTube channel.
