Meet the Lawyer Taking on the Logan Paul vs Coffeezilla Lawsuit

CREATOR NEWSLETTER

Bill Ogden, a seasoned lawyer with a track record in high-profile defamation cases, is “no stranger to the internet.” Known for his role in securing a $49 million defamation victory against Alex Jones on behalf of the families of Sandy Hook victims, Ogden now faces a new challenge.

The lawyer is representing YouTuber Coffeezilla against titan influencer Logan Paul. Paul’s lawsuit, filed on June 27, accuses Coffeezilla of defamation over his coverage of Paul’s controversial crypto project, CryptoZoo.

Ogden, who claims he was drawn to the case not by financial incentives but by a commitment to fighting for what he sees as a just cause, agreed to take on Coffeezilla’s defense because he thinks the creator is “doing the right thing for the right reasons.”

“In my opinion, I think my client is a hundred percent accurate,” Ogden said. “I saw a David versus Goliath story, and David just happened to be on the defensive side.”

Passionfruit reporter Steven Asarch delves into Ogden’s story, the complexities of this case, and the stakes for both the YouTuber and the internet celebrity embroiled in the legal battle. Read more below.
