TikTok’s cannamoms have been celebrated for their mission to break the stigma around mothers who smoke weed. A search for the hashtag #cannamom once garnered countless videos that racked up millions of views. However, in recent months, the platform has completely banned #cannamom, which was a vital way for mothers to find each other. Struggling against constant community guidelines strikes and bans, the app’s cannamoms have begun taking their communities elsewhere. Passionfruit contributor Grace Griffin spoke with a few of them to see how they’ve maintained their bonds on and offline, and to find out how they navigate hostile platforms.
