CREATOR ECONOMY NEWSLETTER
Issue 58 | August 11, 2022
It has been one year since we sent out the first issue of Passionfruit (formerly known as the Daily Dot Creator Economy Newsletter, which doesn’t quite roll off the tongue, does it?).
We’ve changed a lot since then. We got a new name and a new website. We’ve spoken to a wide range of creators and business leaders, as well as explored interesting (and sometimes strange) trends. So, how do you measure a year? We’re going to try by sharing some highlights of our coverage and checking in with a few creators about what’s changed over the past year.

FROM THE INSIDE
This year, we’ve spoken to pioneers at top creator economy businesses—including Discord, Cameo, Patreon, LinkTree, Skillshare, and more—and shared how these insiders are approaching product development and providing services to creators. We’ve interviewed top managers to get advice on sourcing the best deals and thinking long-term about career development. We’ve spoken with marketing execs at top businesses for guidance on influencer sponsorships and partnerships. We’ve even interviewed creators who’ve started their own businesses, and heard about the lessons they’ve learned along the way.
