What are you all even doing?

CREATOR NEWSLETTER

New year energy is feeling pretty strong right now, the sense we’re all in need of some major vibe shift and seeking out new beginnings feels pretty universal to me this week.

So, the tl;dr of this email is: Tell us what you’re working on to shift that vibe in your own creative universe, and we’ll pay you for it.

In the spirit of forcing creative people (you) to publicly commit to doing something with your creative energy this year, I was hoping you’d be willing to share what you’re excited to be working on. Launching a channel, rebuilding a dormant Substack, taking guitar lessons, doing more open mics…we’ve all got a chance to start some new projects this year, and I’d like to be able to share some of yours with the rest of our audience.

For my part, I’m excited to start making some new podcasts and videos in our new LA studio space with new and old co-conspirators. I’m super pumped to be going to Dubai for the 1Billion Followers Summit next weekend, expect some fun on the ground coverage from that.

Passionfruit intends to do more events in places like SXSW and VidCon, but also just more events generally and broadly. Concerts, comedy clubs, film festivals, and comic cons are the dream. We’ll be getting back to building our paid subscription product, investing in our Youtube operation, and continuing to partner with solid brands looking to help creators (and solid creators who are interested in becoming brands).

2025 is shaping up to be another year driven by the strength of internet creator culture, and we hope to continue to be one of the best sources for news, tips, and commentary on digital creation. You’ll continue to meet new team members next year as we grow and evolve, and hopefully we’ll be doing that meeting in person as we show up in more and more places where you are.

But enough about what we have cooking this year, this is supposed to be about you. What project are you hoping to tackle this year? What is creatively inspiring you to make it? What’s keeping you from going forward? How are you planning to overcome that?

Basically, I want to share some of your own reflections and creative visions for 2025, so go ahead and reply to this email with your thoughts, musings, voice notes, whatever. Can be long, short, mid-length, doesn’t matter…if it’s thoughtful, we’ll share it in a future Passionfruit email. We’ll also sign up to be a paid subscriber of yours on a platform of your choice. Tell us if you’d prefer to be anonymous, that’s cool too.

How about that for a vibe shift? Let us pay you for telling everyone else on this list what you’re working on and how it’s going. Can’t really think of better accountability or motivation than that, and if you keep making your thing, we’ll keep covering it as it evolves.

Happy New Year, now tell us what you plan to do with it by replying to this email.
