A convention dedicated to “makers, creators, and innovators” is returning to San Francisco for its second year. Open Sauce, which will run June 14 through 16, is preparing to bring together 150 top STEM creators along with 500 different exhibits.

To accommodate its growth, the festival announced today that in 2024, it will be at a larger arena, the Cow Palace. But that isn’t the only “first” the Open Sauce convention is celebrating. It is also hosting its first “industry day.” This will feature panels and workshops by key businesses in the creator economy, like Kajabi, Symbolica, and YouTube.

What is Open Sauce?

Open Sauce is a convention for STEM creators and businesses. Its annual festival is an opportunity for creators to hear from 150 of the leading voices in the space. 500 exhibitors will also show “inventions and crazy machines.”

“When attendees walk in it’s like they’ve stepped foot into their favorite science YouTube video or TV show,” founder William Osman said in a statement. “We’ve got everything from giant robots like Exosapien, thundering tesla coils from Arc Attack, Battle Bots, a drivable bunk bed on wheels and fried chicken vending machine.”

Alongside exhibitors like Exosapien Technologies, Arc Attack, and Battlebots, attending creators include Adam Savage, Mark Rober, TheOdd1sOut, and Emily The Engineer.

Where will Open Sauce 2024 be?

Open Sauce will be at the Cow Palace, a San Francisco venue near Daly City, California. The Cow Palace’s main arena can pack in 16,500 attendees, along with extra capacity in exhibit halls and breakout rooms. The venue is popular for a myriad of exciting events, including rodeos, boat and dog shows, art expos, and even the circus.

Last year, the event was at Pier 35 in San Francisco. This venue, comparatively, held a 300-5,000 capacity. So, it’s grown pretty exponentially since last year.

How much does Open Sauce cost?

Tickets for the event cost $200 for general admission, $395 for premium admission, and $1,499 for VIP admission. Premium ticket holders will get early access and be able to participate in small-group discussions with featured creators. VIP ticket-holders will also get access to a creator party on June 14.

“Open Sauce is the place to be for anyone interested in science and engineering,” Osman added. “You’ll meet your favorite creators, you’ll be inspired, you’ll make new friends, and you might even get a job. Seriously, we talked with people who were hired by prospective employers attending Open Sauce.”
