Being a creator can be both physically and mentally taxing. According to Patreon‘s recent State of Create survey, 78% of creators feel burnt out and unmotivated. Additionally, 75% say they feel like the platform “punishes” them for not making consistent content.

In the survey, creators also reported feeling isolated, as well as feeling pressured to cover viral trends as opposed to content they’re passionate about. Worst of all, creators said that they were struggling to balance things like finance and creativity with wellbeing.

All of this can put creators under immense pressure, leaving them suffering in silence. Patreon says it wants to help with its newly introduced Mental Health and Wellness Resource Hub.

What Is Patreon’s Mental Health and Wellness Resource Hub?

In an email to Passionfruit, the platform describes its Mental Health and Wellness Resource Hub as a “centralized, expert-backed space offering resources on everything from emotional well-being and digital safety to financial resilience and parenthood.”

Currently, the site has twenty expert-backed mental health resources, but Patreon says it wants to expand this in the future. Patreon has also implemented a 24/7 Crisis Text Line for those who need to get something off their chest or want to be listened to.

In an email statement to Passionfruit, Courtney Duffy, Patreon’s Senior Manager in Creator Policy Engagement, said: “Creators today are navigating a perfect storm: burnout, financial instability, and algorithm-driven platforms that push quantity over quality.”

“For Patreon to truly empower creators, we have to consider the whole person. That’s why we’re prioritizing mental health resources—so creators and fans know: You are not alone when things get tough,” she added.
