Roblox creators are already making bank, but now, the platform has introduced a brand new source of income. As announced in a blog post, Roblox’s Creator Rewards program will reward Robux to developers who retain players as well as recruit new ones.
This program consists of two main payouts: the Daily Engagement Reward, and the Audience Expansion Reward. The Daily Engagement Reward will pay five Robux to creators every time an ‘Active Spender’ spends at least ten minutes their creators’ sandbox games. An ‘Active Spender’ is a user who has spent at least $9.99 in Roblox over the past 60 days. The payout will only trigger on the first three games each Active Spender plays each day.
As for the Audience Expansion Reward, that’s tailored to creators who specifically bring new users to Roblox. Roblox creators will get extra revenue on purchases made by new users or users who were inactive for the last 60 days. When new users purchase things during their first two months on Roblox, creators will get a 35% cut of the subsequent revenue.
The Creator Rewards program will replace Engagement-Based Payouts from July 24. Creators will also be pleased to hear that their earnings from this Program are uncapped.
Once again, Roblox is proving that it’s a competitive platform for industrious creators.
