Spotify is introducing a new recognition program for its top creators. The music streaming platform will give the Creator Milestone Awards to podcasts that reach Bronze, Silver and Gold thresholds.
These thresholds are based on cumulative all-time streams. They are as follows: 100 million Spotify streams for Bronze, 150 million Spotify streams for Silver, and 500 million streams for Gold. Similar to the YouTube Creator Awards, Spotify creators who achieve those milestones will receive a commemorative plaque. They will also be center-stage as part of a curated content spotlight hub.
Winning podcasts include The Joe Rogan Experience (Gold), Dateline NBC (Silver) and Rotten Mango (Bronze).
These awards are significant because it marks the first time that Spotify has publicly released the streaming numbers for its podcasts.
Moreover, in a statement to Variety, Jordan Newman, Spotify’s head of content partnerships, said:
“These awards go above and beyond the numbers — they’re about recognizing the hustle, creativity and dedication that make each creator’s story unique. For the first time, we’re publicly spotlighting these achievements, recognizing creators for their impact and sharing their success with the world.
“This program is an important step in celebrating the amazing work podcasters do, and we’re thrilled to continue supporting them as they shape the future of this medium.”
