The recent California wildfires sent shockwaves across the world. Many people lost their homes and possessions, and content creators are no exception. For creators, these fires also caused them to lose their livelihoods. As their studios and equipment went up in flames, many creators have been left unable to produce content.
Tubefilter reports that Spotify is opening up its studio to a limited number of creators. These creators will get access to a filming room with Spotify team members available to assist with technical problems. In total, each creator selected will be entitled to three recording sessions.
How Can Creators Effected By The Wildfires Sign Up?
To sign up for the initiative, which is also open to podcasters and musicians, users will need to fill out an online form. However, Spotify also noted that it’s expecting such a high demand that not all applicants will be successful.
In a statement to Tubefilter, Spotify Senior Director of Content Partnerships Jordan Newman said, “At Spotify, creativity is at the heart of everything we do. We understand how challenging this time has been for many impacted creators and artists, and we’re extending our studio spaces to ensure their voices remain amplified.”
This isn’t the only way Spotify is helping following the wildfires: it also donated $5 million to wildfire relief organizations like MusiCares and FireAid. Ultimately, it’s the perfect example of how platforms can actually walk the walk and genuinely help creators in a time of crisis.
