Wake up, new Twitch stats just dropped. The streaming platform might have its problems, but if Streamlabs’ numbers (via Tubefilter) are anything to go by, Twitch isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. We’ve heard a lot about Kick this year, with the likes of Adin Ross pivoting to the platform after a Twitch ban. But ultimately, it pales in comparison to Twitch. According to Streamlabs (via Tubefilter), Twitch accounted for 82.3% of all streaming hours during Q3.
In terms of numbers, this amounts to 212 million. Meanwhile, Kick accounted for a measly 3%, which translates into 7.79 million streaming hours. Both YouTube Gaming and Steam are ahead of Kick, accounting for 5.6% and 4.6% of streaming hours, respectively.
What are the other Twitch stats?
Meanwhile, Streamlabs (via Tubefilter) also reports that Twitch accrued 5.14 billion hours of watch time, with YiouTube Gaming trailing behind with 1.94 billion hours of watch time. The data also shows that Twitch is the hub of 85% of unique streaming channels.
But will things stay this way? Countless streamers have reported losing large chunks of their advertising revenue. Creator Lacy, for instance, reported that his earnings went from over $10,000 to $2,000 a day. This led to rumors swirling about the platform having an “adpocalypse,” but at the time of writing, the platform hadn’t addressed them.
