Valkyrae, whose real name is Rachell Marie Hofstetter, got emotional during a recent stream after recounting the events of March 2.

On March 2, Valkyrae and Cinna cut short their Sis-A-Thon stream marathon after a harrowing encounter with a “stream sniper.” The man, who has yet to be identified, started to bizarrely sing and “propose” to them before repeatedly asking Valkyrae and her group for their phone numbers. Things then took a sinister turn during a second encounter that evening when the man lunged and threatened to kill them.

In light of this event, Valkyrae and Cinna both confirmed on X that they would be halting the Sis-A-Thon for the foreseeable future and in a new stream posted on March 3, the pair shared more details about what happened.

After the man started running, the streamers said that they hid inside a store for a while. “I think when we went into the store, he backed off because it was a lot of people, so we don’t where he was, we didn’t know where he went,” Cinna said. “We had to hide in a shed for 15 minutes until the cops came.”

Valkyrae added that the situation was “terrifying” because they “didn’t know if he was still around or if he’d changed [clothes].”

After the scare, Valkyrae has emerged fighting. “He is still out there but I am investing as much as I can to find this guy,” she said.

“If you have any information, I would like it. We are going to find him and I am going to do everything I can to get this guy.”

This comes after Amouranth faced a home invasion the same night. The incidents have sparked debate about the safety of female streamers, which some have coined the “Female Creator Safety Tax.”
