Since AI has taken over the rest of the world, it might as well take over YouTube comments sections, too.
On Oct. 15, Google announced that it is experimenting with AI-powered YouTube comment suggestions. These suggestions set out to “enhance” creators’ comments by making suggestions in that creator’s own tone and writing style.
Google also highlighted that these comment suggestions are “completely optional and editable.” All you need to do is tap the suggestion to edit it.
Can all creators use YouTube comment suggestions?
At present, this test is rolling out to a small number of creators. According to Google, creators who are part of this experiment will see suggestions begin to appear on either the Comments or Community Tab on YouTube Studio and the YouTube mobile app.
This isn’t the only change Google is making to YouTube comments. The platform also recently announced that the “Community Hub” will be replacing the YouTube comments section to help creators “more easily engage with [their] fans.”
Within this hub will be something called the “Community Spotlight,” a carousel that highlights some of creators’ key commenters on YouTube videos.
The Hub will also be the go-to place to look at metrics like the number of YouTube commenters and returning viewers. According to Google, all of this will roll out to every creator “gradually over time.”
