In the latest episode of its Creator Insider series, YouTube announced a number of new features for creators. One notable addition is poll stickers, which YouTube says will be rolled out in the coming week.
“Up ’til now, if creators wanted to poll their communities, they could only do so by creating a poll post, or by asking users to comment on a video,” a YouTube spokesperson said in the video. “Now creators can add a poll sticker directly to their Short and have their viewers tap an option to vote.”
What other new YouTube features were announced?
Similar to Instagram story poll stickers, creators will be able to see both the total number of votes and individual vote percentages.
Creators will also be able to see a breakdown of views by content type, thanks to a new format filter. Thirdly, YouTube also shared that it was experimenting with adding Super Chat goals and targets to YouTube premieres and livestreams.
These Super Chat goals will be displayed on-screen and will count down to a target that’s chosen by the creator. If viewers reach that goal, they’ll get a reward.
Finally, YouTubers will be able to block specific ad categories from showing up on channels. To access this feature, viewers must visit the ‘Settings’ tab in YouTube Studio.
