You know what they say about creators: it’s where the money’s at. Every parent wants their kid to grow up to be a doctor, lawyer and the third best job of making content on the Internet. What’s not to love? It’s glamorous, you definitely get to be your own boss and make your own hours, and most importantly, it’s super lucrative. Basically no drawbacks!
But just in case you’re one of the 46% of creators who earn less than $1,000 annually (or the 100% for whom the U.S. census bureau doesn’t count as employed in one of its 22,607 industries,) you might be looking for some deals to help pay for your extravagant lifestyle.
So in honor of Cyber Monday — one of the few holidays that no one will ever complain about becoming “too commercialized” — we’re testing out an extra newsletter, tentatively titled Passionfruit Deals. Because if nothing else, we’re extremely creative with our headlines and haven’t been asked to “tone it down a notch on the puns.”
We’ve compiled the list using three criteria for products:
- Creators could actually use on a daily basis to help make their lives easier;
- The discounts are steep enough to harken back to those of the Black Fridays of yesteryear;
- Have been:
- Vouched for by a Passionfruit creator or editor;
- Personally cross-referenced third-party reviews against Amazon or product website and received an overwhelmingly positive rating.
- Seemed really, really cool. (Hey, Christmas is coming…)
In the future, we’ll be using this email format to offer special discounts and deals for our subscribers and members, but for now, we’re just passing on the good word and discounts. Happy Cyber Monday to those who celebrate, and happy mid-holiday limbo to us all!
