As it opens up its first retail store, e-commerce start-up Outlandish is making its mark both online and offline. The IRL store, which is situated on Santa Monica’s 3rd Street Promenade, merges live TikTok shopping with a real-life experience.
According to Business Insider, who visited the premises prior to opening, the store has a two-story space. The first floor is dedicated to live-selling booths, with the sellers livestreaming their products on TikTok in one-hour slots. But IRL customers can get involved too. They can watch, participate in the streams, or shop as they would in any other store.

Meanwhile, the top floor seems to have a more generic set-up, with Business Insider noting brands like Goli Nutrition and Anker.
For Outlandish founder and CEO William August, this cutting-edge store harkens back to the “As Seen on TV” days.
“I want people that come in to not feel like they’re in a studio, but to feel like they’re in a space where they can pop in the live stream,” he said in an interview with Business Insider. “They can enjoy the experience. They can grab some free samples, and they can buy in-person. That’s why our livestream rooms are not blocked off.”
