Last week, Pinterest announced a new collaboration with LTK, an affiliate shopping platform. For those uninitiated, LTK works like this: influencers share images and videos of themselves using, wearing, or demonstrating a certain product. All of these posts include affiliate links to these products, and if users buy items from that link, creators earn a commission.
Under this new partnership, currently a pilot project, LTK images that perform well on the app will be automatically cross-posted to Pinterest, along with the relevant affiliate links.
As pointed out by The Verge, nearly 40% of Gen Z women use the platform — which makes LTK a pretty lucrative option for creators.
How Can I Become An LTK Creator?
To join LTK, creators will have to go through an application process. Applicants need to have a track record of consistently posting original content, and, obviously, have a public account and a relatively engaged audience. Eligible creators should share content daily.
The application process involves asking creators to name both a primary and secondary social posting channel. Additionally, the application asks creators whether they have earned money via affiliate content in the past. Thirdly, and finally, creators are asked how often they post on their primary social media platform.
From there, it’s just a matter of submitting the application and waiting to hear back via email.
With this new partnership, it’s an ideal time to join LTK. For a more detailed guide on the platform, click here.
