TikTok has dropped the shortlist for its first annual UK and Ireland TikTok Awards. Announced earlier this year, the event is designed to celebrate TikTokers from all walks of life.
TikTok niches included in the shortlist include travel, sport, food, fashion, beauty, entertainment, and education. There are also awards such as “Breakthrough (musical) Artist of the Year” and the “Voice For Change” award for political TikTokers. You can find the full shortlist here.
When is the UK and Ireland TikTok Awards ceremony?
The winners of these awards will be announced in a ceremony on Dec. 3.
Artists and “Drag Race” judge Michelle Visage will present the ceremony, while “Drag Race” star Bimini, the Sugababes, and Leo Stay Trill will all perform. Creators Sarel and Charley Marlow will also be present, acting as roving red-carpet reporters.
“These awards are our way of recognising the incredible creators who invest their time and creativity to make the TikTok ecosystem truly unique,” TikTok said in its blog post.
“Whether it’s the sporting icons of tomorrow, rising stars in the fashion and beauty industry, passionate foodies, or breakthrough entertainers, they’ve all found a home on TikTok.”
It’s up to TikTok users to vote for the winners. To do so, they need to search ‘TikTok Awards’ in the app. The TikTok app is the only way users can vote.
Users will be able to watch the awards live on the @TikTok_UK page at 8 pm GMT.
