It’s bad news for Twitch mobile fans. If you want fans to subscribe to your channel via the platform’s app, you might be facing a price rise come October 1.

More specifically, the platform said in an X announcement that Tier 1 sub and gift prices across 40 countries will be implemented.

An email shared by Dexerto provided more details on the proposed sub prices increase. According to this purported screenshot, Tier 1 subscriptions will rise to $7.99 a month from $5.99 in the US. But those subscribed on Tier 2 or 3 needn’t worry — the cost will remain unchanged.

This comes after Tier 1 web subscriptions were upped from $4.99 to $5.99 in the US back in July, while the Twitch Turbo subscription faced its own price hike the previous year from $8.99 per month to $11.99.

Twitch streamers react to new sub prices

With another price hike to add to the collection, smaller Twitch creators in particular were less than pleased about the new sub prices. Many voiced their anger on this in the replies of Twitch’s X post.

“This is probably why people have been seeing a decrease in subs on their channel if I could guess,” one speculated.

“So you’re purposefully making it impossible for smaller streamers to have a chance on your app?” another asked. “Also going out of your way to make sure that everything Twitch [stood] for when you first created the platform is destroyed. Because anything for a dollar bill, right corporate Twitch?”
